How to build an AI chat plug-in and embed it into a website?

1. Create a chat plugin

1. Open SaleSmartly's official website and click Start Free Trial.

 

2. Choose a way to register

*Support three ways to register: Account, Email, and WeChat QR code.

 

3. Add project name and invitation code (optional)

 

4. After successful registration, click "Integration - Create Plugin"

 

Enter the chat plug-in editing interface, fill in basic information according to your needs, such as name, avatar, language, etc., and then click "Save".

 

5. Click "Robot - Agent" to jump to HelpKnow.ai

 

2. Building an AI Agent

1. Create a knowledge base

First, you need to upload relevant information.

 

Click "Knowledge - Create Knowledge Base".

 

There are currently four types of knowledge bases that will be used as materials for training agents:

  • Online documentation – Create articles, build help centers, and product manuals

  • Text documents – Unstructured internal knowledge for AI reference, allowing you to view knowledge snippets

  • Product Library – structured question and answer data, suitable for high-precision automatic replies, and does not consume model tokens

  • Q&A Document – Structured product information, suitable for e-commerce scenarios, supporting “find similar products” and “product recommendations”

 

2. Create an AI agent

Click "Agent - Create an Agent".

 

Click "+" in " Knowledge" to associate the created knowledge base

 

Then configure the model , agent settings and knowledge-related parameters according to requirements

 

3. Release the Agent

After the configuration is complete, you can ask questions in the "Preview and Debugging" section on the right to test the AI's answering effect. After the test is complete, click the "Publish" button.

 

3. Configuring AI Agents

After building your own AI agent, you need to configure it into the SaleSmartly chat plugin.

 

Switch to the SaleSmartly, under Robot -> AI Robots , click "Creating a Robots Agent" , or select an existing robot.

 

In "Select AI Agent" , select the agent you created in HelpKnow. In "AI Bot Application Channel" , select the chat plugin or channel where the AI answer will be applied. Turn on "Robot Status" button.
(Tip: It is recommended to choose the test web plug-in channel to avoid affecting the official business)

 

After clicking “Save” , your AI agent is now online and will start handling user inquiries on the selected channel (unless you manually turn off the AI takeover feature).

 

4. Embed in website

If you have built your own website , you can install the SaleSmartly chat plugin on your website through JavaScript code.

 

In [ Integration - Chat Plugin - Script ], click "Copy". Add the installation code to the source code of your website.

 

Previously, refreshing the website after adding it would take effect immediately, and sending a message through the website would confirm whether the installation was successful.

The effect after embedding in the website is as follows. The AI chat plug-in can be suspended on the website.
